Mammoth Lakes to LA - Stop over advice

Hi guys.

Travelling around California at Easter with our 3 year old (who isn't a big fan of being in the car). We will be heading from Mammoth back to LA before we head home.

Can anyone advise us on a good place to stop off over night to break up the journey?

Many thanks

Lyndsay

Most people drive it in one day but if you want to spend a night in between I suggest Lone Pine or Ridgecrest. Lone Pine has a far more scenic location than Ridgecrest but also is closer to Mammoth Lakes. The direct drive app takes 6 hours.

Thanks for your reply. In the past we have done the drive in one go but so different with a 3 year old who struggles with a 30 minute drive to our parents house :-/

We were thinking Lone Pine also, so thanks for confirming.

Yes, Lone Pine is gorgeous. Ridgecrest is not.

Lone Pine is 90 minutes from Mammoth, Los Angeles is 3 hours from Lone Pine. I don't think it's much fun for s stopover (unless you want to visit Whitney), and would rather keep driving.
