Good time at the Sands Friday night…nothing like making a few hundred in a few hours.. My girlfriend and I made our second visit to the Sands, intent on trying the St James Irish Pub and fulfilling her 4,000 dream of winning at the slots (more on that later) We arrived at the Sands around 925p and were greeting by the band Fuzzy Pink Slippers…Not too bad…they were able to sustain a good crowd of people as they played. The Molten Lounge is a nice area…I am hopeful though that they will have a hip hop club or something when the hotel opens. Fuzzy Pink Slippers was so good, we watched a few drunk women try – and I do mean try – to dance while they played…too funny….Anywayz we made our way to St James and it was fairly crowded – no reservation…but we were shown over to the bar. I read about the Seafood Chowder and how good it was so I made sure that we ordered it. Good Choice! It was chocked with clams, mussels, potatoes, really, really good….Glad that we shared a bowl (you know because I am romantic like that) because it was a decent sized bowl. We decided to share a Reuben and mmm…another good choice…The bread was a little too toasted for my girl, but I was good with it. A good solid sandwich and a nice way to get ready for the slots! We passed on desert and hit the casino floor to the triple 777. My girl is very conservative and as soon as I had turned 20.00 in 53.00, she wanted me to stop….We then went to the diamond bar games and turned the 53.00 into 88.00…After hearing her say stop several times we then went to the card games so she could try her luck. I know nothing about cards, my passion is craps and roulette...but lets see if she has some magic in her tonight. After 10 tries and only 1 really good hand, we go back to my diamond bar game. 88.00 had dipped 68.00 (still love ya baby) but I was still feeling it and turned 68 into 130.00. By this time it was almost 1130 and I finally decided to listen to my girl…..
All in all 2hrs of fun, good food – definitely will go back to the Irish Pub, and a 100.00 profit….
