Thanks to loads of advice received on various forums I've managed to book and sort out nearly everything for this trip but there's one leg of the journey I'm a little unsure of - between Sedona and Yosemite.
We have 3 days (2 overnight stops) to get from Sedona to Yosemite but I'm not sure where to stopver. Origianlly I had planned to stay in Pahrump but from what I've read, Pahrump isn't much to look at so was wondering if anyone thinks it's feasible to continue driving on to Furnace Creek on the same day? I've looked on some websites that suggest this is around a 7.5 hours drive (Sedona-Furnace Creek) but can anyone confirm if this is realistic? We could leave Sedona at say 7.30am, would we make Furance Creek before sunset?
Anyone got any opinion on staying the other night in Lone Pine/Independence/Bishop/Mammoth Lakes? I was thinking Lone Pine as I'd like to see Mt Whitney and it also means that we will have longer in DVNP as it is closer than the others to Furnace Creek.
Thnaks for any suggestions or clarification.
