Hi,

I will be driving from Carlsbad Caverns to El Paso, and I'm wondering if there is anything to see or do along the way. I just want to break up the trip and stretch my legs, so I'm not looking for any sort of major activity.

Even stopping for dinner would be fine, but I don't really see any towns along the way. So, I would settle for some sort of quick sight to see.

you will drive thru some old salt lakes and the heighest mountain in TX on your way to El Paso.

Really not much along that route. Whites City is too close to Carlsbad for a stop, and the towns after that are all "spot in the road" places... which is pretty much what Whites City is also. There's a pretty good rest stop with facilities and picnic tables, etc..., near Pine Springs, which would be a good point to stretch your legs a bit. Pack a gourmet picinc lunch for the trip and you're good to go. Guadalupe Mountains National Park is a nice diversion if you want to spend just a little extra time along the way.
