Can you go up the statue of liberty?

Going to New york on Wednesday and planning to book ESB and TOTR in advance, but not sure if you can go up the statue of liberty. Cant seem to find any info on it on the web site. Thanx in Advance!!

Since 9/11, you haven't been able to visit the crown and the torch hasn't been accessible for some years. You can however still visit the museum and go to the observatory in the pedestal. So, essentially, you can go up it, just not all the way! If it's your first trip to the city, I'd recommend you see it, it is afterall a bit of an icon, whether you choose to go up or not.

Does anyone know if they have plans to reopen it, or will it remain closed indefinitely given the current political climate?

The only access to the SOL is to the 10th floor obvservation platfvorm, base of the statue.

This is from the nps.gov/statueof liberty website.

Access to the crown and torch is restricted.
