Looking for a Hotel with late night bar & dining

Our flight arrives in San Diego at 10pm & we are looking to catch a Taxi to the Hotel, so ideally a Downtown location, or not too far from the airport.

As it will be "drinks & dinner time" by our body clocks, I'm hoping to find a hotel with a bar & food either in the premises, or really close by, that will be open well after midnight.

It will be a Thursday night, & budget is up to $250. We aren't fussy as long as the beer is cold & the food is edible. I will add we're too old for noisy nightclubs though! :)

Thanks

Anni

Hi,

I don't know about the hotel kitchens but I'd imagine that room service would be operating.

The purple spot on this map is Brian's which is a 24hr. sort of "diner". The other marks on the map show nearby hotels:

Hopefully others will come on with more ideas.

Another idea might be La Puerta where the kitchen is open until 2AM

Here is the location and the surrounding hotels:

I'd look at the Marriott Gaslamp, Omni and Hotel Solamar. There should be plenty of places open. Assuming the flight is internal, you should be at your hotel no later than 11PM I'd think.

Omni has 24 hr. room service.

Marriott Gaslamp only room service until midnight

This is not really an all night sort of city.

You won't have a problem finding food if you stay Downtown SD. Have a look at the hotels mentioned. But, even if your hotel doesn't have late night room service there'll be plenty of places to have a bite to eat that will be open.

Bar Basic - 2am

The Field - 2am

Quality Social - 2am

Kansas City BBQ - Top Gun Fame has a late nightly HH that starts at 11:00pm

In other words you won't go hungry or lack for drinks!! Enjoy.

The doorman should be able to tell you which places are open and walk or taxi to your vittles. SD is a great choice, cheers.

Thanks so much everyone.

Am I right that Brians is actually part of the Ramada Gaslamp (formerly the St James Hotel)?

If so, its perfect & the price is right as well, just over $150pn.

Annie - yes you are right about the Ramada. I live close and even have stayed in the hotel. Yes, Brian's is open 24 hr but I wouldn't limit yourself to it. I pop in from time to time but there is something about a restaurant that never closes. As in, at some point they have to clean... The Ramada is an old fashioned hotel with unique room layouts. The elevator is one of those old ones and can take time if a lot of people want to come and go at the same time. But it has a lot of charm. I'm not trying to discourage you at all. Just making sure you know that it's not a modern hotel with the modern amenities.

I've had some good food at Brian's and the location is a good one.

Brian's is at the Ramada, but not part of it.

$150 a night is good and like elizzie says, a nice hotel, but it depends on what other hotels are charging at the same time. If I could get into one of the hotels I mentioned earlier (Marriott Gaslamp, Omni and Hotel Solamar) for under $200, it might be worth it for a better location and newer hotel.

Agree with Scott, if other nicer properties are in your budget chose one of those, Any hotel will be near many food and drink options if not in your hotel right outside of your hotel.
