I was wondering if anyone has been to the Elvis Presley Museum at the birth sight since it re-opened.

I'm just interested to hear what anyone has to say that has been to it.

Hi, my family and I went to the Museum in November. My boys are under 10 and they really enjoyed it as much as my husband and I. They have the original house Elvis was born in. It only has 2 rooms and my kids could not begin to imagine living there. It is very somber, quiet, peaceful and serene. It is fitting and not overly commercialized like Graceland. The volunteers are very knowledgable and gracious..just like all Southerners! SMILE!

There is a Chapel, fountain, old car, and souvenier shop. Come on to Ms and enjoy Tupelo, the Natchez Trace and great food.

Let me know if there is anything specific you want to know!

Hi Shout

Did you know someone stole Elvis's bible from the chapel.

We have been a few times and will be there again in April.

We always enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the birthplace, as you say, a lot different than Graceland.

I'm pleased your children enjoyed the trip, I think they should see what someone like Elvis came from and for all his fame, he never forgot the humble surroundings he came from.

We have friends in Saltillo we stay with when we visit and they always make us welcome, in fact, Tupelo is like a second home to us.

Sorry for rambling, it's just that we love the place so much.

I did not know someone stole the Bible, obviously not a true Elvis fan or they would never have stooped so low. Maybe they will open the Bible and change their life!! Glad you find Ms a great place to visit. Dont know if you have visited the coast but it sure was fun before Katrina... not the casinos but the eateries and arts!

Sorry to say, we have not got that far down.

We was going to go to New Orleans last year but was advised it was not a good idea.

Maybe one day we will but I fear our age will dictate that, so I won't hold my breath.

We are lucky to have seen what we have seen and for that, I am grateful.
