Proposal Ideas in Boston |
|
I'm will be surprising my girlfriend with a trip to Boston on St. Patrick's Day, through the weekend. I plan on proposing to her that evening. However, I'd rather not propose in a restraunt. Would anyone know of romantic locations within a short distance of Boston Common. Also, I've checked out many luxury hotels online, but if anyone has recommendations that would be great. We'll be staying with friends for the rest of the weekend, but on Thursday, I'd like to stay downtown for around $300. Thanks for your help. Report as inappropriate |

I've got another idea for you which would be memorable, but not exactly what you described. Fenway Park (home of the Red Sox) gives tours daily. If you contacted them, they may be willing to post your proposal on their "jumbo tron" out in center field during the tour. If she says yes, you can take her to a nice dinner that evening to celebrate. If she says no, you can trade her to the Yankees for a player to be named later ;-) Report as inappropriate

I would reccomend the Isabella Stewart Gardner musuem. It has an amazing courtyard that would be so, romantic. It has a beautiful flowers and it is just gorgeous. If you call them I'm sure they could help you set up something really special. Good luck! Report as inappropriate

Propose somewhere that will not close. In twenty years from now, will Finale be there? A historic place is better. Report as inappropriate

My husband proposed to me in Copley Square, just a few blocks from the common and from our apartment. He had also snuck some of our things to the Westin Copley Place for the night - such a wonderful surprise! I hope your experience is as wonderful. A few thoughts for a winter proposal - The Isabella Stuart Gardner museum is gorgeous with an indoor garden courtyard. They probably don't have evening hours, but it would be a lovely setting. Taking advantage of the winter weather, you could propose at the Frog Pond in the common - a cute ice skating rink. It doesn't have the best food, but Top of the Hub has amazing views of Boston if you wanted to go the restaurant route. Good luck! Report as inappropriate

I love how your post has gotten the most replies..most likely all from women:). I totally agree with Christopher Columbus park..right near the harbor and the blue and white lights on the walkways will be a perfect touch (hopefully they will be on) its opposite the Commons but near the North End which is romantic. Right near the commons there is also Commonwealth Ave. The street is lined with lighted trees (again hopefully they will be on) and its a nice walk amongst some beautiful brownstone houses. Good luck and you have no choice but to "post" the results! Report as inappropriate

Well, here are the results. I proposed to my gal, here in Minneapolis. Early on St. Patrick's Day morning I called her at her apt and sent her on a little Irish scavenger hunt. After quietly waiting outside her place, she "hunted" me down and I proposed. She said Yes! I then surprised her with tickets to Boston. We arrived in town, stayed at the Nine Zero, which was a fantastic hotel. I'd highly recommend it. That evening some of her friends from Boston and NYC surprised her at a nearby Irish Pub (The Kinsale). From there we had a typical Irish celebration.... Thanks for everyone's suggestions. The day was perfect...I decided that I had to ask her before we left Minneapolis for Boston, because I knew she would figure out why we were going. I wanted the entire series of events to be a surprise. For those of you looking for a hotel. I would recommend the Nine Zero. It was a classy, perfectly located, very quiet hotel. If you can get a corner room, you'll be presented with an amazing room. Floor to ceiling windows down two sides of the room. Report as inappropriate
