My oldest daughter is turning 15 next month and I have booked a Friday night stay at the Lenox hotel for her and two friends *and me obviously* we will spend the day shopping on Newbury and then maybe Copley saturday or vice versa.

We will have dinner Friday night at City Table (res already made) unless someone has a better suggestion. I am trying to think of cool ideas of places to go with her friday or saturday and ways to make the trip special. Specifically something either at the restaurant or hotel check in to surprise her. Possibly in reference to shopping or something? I am stumped.

I know it is a great trip and doesn't necessarily need more just wanted to make it all about her. It is her actual bday (and mine, haha) so I want to make it special. TIA.

Shops on Newbury Street popular with teen girls are H&M and Zara. There are also a few spas in the area and a pampering visit for manicures and pedicures for you and the girls might be a fun activity.

Ice skating on frog pond? Maybe dinner one night at Fire and Ice? It's not one of my favorites, but it's a different kind of dining experience and kids seem to think it's fun.

I checked with my teen daughter, who just spent a day shopping with her friends in the Copley Square/Prudential Center/Newbury Street area. Here are her suggestions: Lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (I know - it's a chain, but the girls loved the variety of food offered there). Shopping in the Copley Place/Prudential Center shops - highlights there include Sephora (make-up with lots of advice from the salespeople there) and Victoria's Secret (for underwear). Along Newbury Street: Newbury Comics @332 Newbury; Forever 21 @343 Newbury; Urban Outfitters @ 361 Newbury. Not on Newbury but just a block over: Nordstrom Rack at 497 Boylston Street. From the expert teen shopper in my house - enjoy the time with your daughter and her friends. Great way to celebrate your birthday too.

I assume that the Cheesecake Factory would offer a special dessert for you and your daughter - I haven't celebrated a birthday there so can't say that for certain.....

I'll throw a couple more ideas into the mix...not shopping related....The Paint Bar on Newbury Street, Blue Man Group, skating on Frog Pond.
