Hi

My two children and I are going to the Wilbur Theater at the end of November and I would like to find a a safe walking distance, affordable/cozy hotel/motel/ inn ( pool plus) that is also safe walking distance to the theater.

Thanks for the tips..

What do you mean "affordable"?

Not likely. Even outside of town you'd be paying more. You need to raise your budget.

$100 may be an impossible dream.

What are you dates, how many people are in your group and how many beds do you need?. The private room for 3 at the hostel is running $189 night. It is near a subway and walkable to the Wilbur.

http://Http://bostonhostel.org

That said, somebody recently posted finding Marriott Copley Place for Thanksgiving @ $105 + tax and using dates of Nov 28 - Nov 30 for 1 adult and 2 kids I found the midtown for $96 per night plus tax on hotels.com. both these places ate near the SUBWAY but not all that close to the Wilbur

Prices will vary , so exact dates matter.

I have to correct myself. Safe walking to the t line from the Hotel....and from the t line connection to the theater.

Look at hotels.com and see what comes up.

If there is an event at the Wilbur, the area will be crowded and walking is fine. the two hotels I mentioned are in safe areas

Since you will be here for a weekend during a slow tourist season, you should be able to get great rates. I did a quick Hotwire search and found a 4 star hotel in the theatre district with a pool for $110 but you might get a great hotel rate but parking is still expensive. The Boston Common garage is a great alternative for cheaper parking for the weekend.

Enjoy!

I am also looking for a good deal on a hotel for Nov 26 - Dec 2. I was even considering a dorm bed at HI Boston which actually looks pretty cool. But then I checked out Hotwire and I must say so far I am very surprised at the great deals available even for 4-* properties. Apparently even though Thanksgiving is one of the heaviest travel times of the year, no one is coming to Boston haha...

Are the DE's here well versed in figuring out which hotels may be referred to from the descriptions on Hotwire? If so, I may come back and consult :)....

Thanks all!

Welcome to the forum, Lennybruce! We had a great DE that was able to figure the hotels out but he no longer posts on TA. I know a few but not an expert. We usually refer folks to betterbidding.com
