We are having problems where to eat dinner 4th July. We were going to the Hyatt Regency but have now been advised we could not get back into Boston because of the crowds. We would like a nice restaurant either in a hotel or not, but not pay crazy prices because of the holiday. A view of the fireworks would be a bonus, but not necessary. Thanks for any help.

Hi Stick,

The Hyatt would have one of the best views of the fireworks. Of course, you could get back into Boston afterwards. I don't know who told you otherwise. You could take a taxi to the Red Line at Central Sq., or you could walk over the Mass. Ave. Bridge, or the BU bridge and catch the Green Line. It's not that difficult. Yes, it will be crowded, though.

You need to be a bit more specific about what a "nice restaurant" means. What type of food? What kind of budget?

Hi Beantown

Forgot to mention "nice restaurant" smart casual restaurant not a jeans and t shirt restaurant. Thanks for any info.

I agree with beantown. . .not sure who said you wouldn't be able to get back into Boston. As long as you're not driving or riding in a car you'll be fine (and the only reason I say that is b/c people WILL be walking in the streets). If you were planning on the Hyatt Regency I wouldn't worry about changing your plans.
