I'll be returning a rental to Logan. Are there gas stations close? I'll be coming from Burlington.
There is a gas station in the airport near Terminal E but they are expensive, there are gas stations if you are coming down Route 1 South.
But coming from Burlington you are probably going to be on 93S. After coming through the tunnel, follow signs for 1A North. Go PAST the airport, and past Suffolk Downs to the HESS station or a little further to the Sunoco station (Sunoco is usually pricier than Hess. ) After filling up, hug the right shoulder of the road, exit just past the Target but keep left on the exit ramp and make a U-turn right under 1A and back onto 1A south. On 1A south, go past Suffolk downs again and after passing through the next traffic light, keep left for the airport. (Roads are well marked).
It may sound a bit complicated, but really it's not and from the gas station to the airport is about 2-3 miles.
There is one near State Police Troop F building: drive beyond the exit towards 1A but get off at Bennington Street and loop back to the right, towards the airport. I think it's a Hess but not positive.
There's another on Bennington Street, straight off the ramp from 1A, between the Wood Island and Orient Heights T stops, next to a Dunkin Donuts. No name gas station with convenience store attached.
I'm not usually returning a rental car there so I'm not up on the gas prices in this area.. Not sure who's cheapest.Edited: 7:44 am, August 16, 2013
You can fill it up in Burlington just before you leave and not worry about trying to find a station. Unless you're driving a gas guzzler, the drive to Logan will likely consume less than a gallon of gas.Edited: 8:21 am, August 16, 2013
The gas station at Logan prices aren't bad. Always best to fill up as close to dropping the rental as possible.
The easiest thing I can tell you is the Gulf gas station: 100 Service Road, East Boston, MA. Put it right into your gps. That's what I've used in the past. Super convenient.
