the best of spring

Well, this sounds like a dumb question, but we have never been to Asheville. We are planning a week's visit this spring, and our dates are flexible -- any time in March, April or May would be fine -- but we really want to hit the flowers are their peak. Any help would be appreciated! Our plan is to rent a house for our stay.

Hmmm, well I don't know that there's one "peak" for flowers like there is for fall foliage. The little spring ephemeral wildflowers are lovely in early April before the trees start leafing all the way out, but rhododendrons and Mountain Laurel usually peak in June. And, of course, the Biltmore Gardens have planted beds. Here are a few links that might help:

I would go last week in April or first week in May. Dogwood trees will be blooming..
