Best location/hotel for us?

We have never been to Asheville, and really just want to see downtown and the University with our 18 yr old son, over a quick weekend in October.

The hotels seem to be more over by the Biltmore. Is that far from the University and downtown?

We will have a car....

Thanks for any suggestions!

There are nice hotels downtown. I would stay close to where you want to visit. There's not a real nice hotel near the UNCA but just S of there downtown are some nice ones. There are nice hotels around the Biltmore also. It's only a few minutes drive to downtown from that area. Either area is perfect to stay. Enjoy your visit.

How is the Doubletree? (They offer a great rate for people visiting the U). I think its down by the Biltmore. How far is that from town? How far is town from the U.?

Thanks again!

The Doubletree is probably about 15 minutes south of UNCA campus.
