I'm thinking of accepting a contract assignment for 3 months in Asheville. I'm 28 year old African-american female who likes to shop and likes to go out and do things on the weekend:dancing, festivals, clubs. I am looking at your website asheville.com and am thinking there wouldn't be much for me to do there on the weekend and do not want to bored stiff for three months. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Oh by the way, I am by no means an outdoor person if it is under 60 degrees

You will find downtown Asheville a funky and fun place - very youth oriented and very eclectic. If you come after October, you will find some cold temps. The area is lovely and I think for a town its size there is quite a bit to do. You are only two hours from Charlotte and two hours from Knoxville - you could always take a jaunt there. Best wishes.

As far as clubs in Asheville..there are no clubs just bars. Lots of local music and "jam band" music. You may be bored. It does get cold.
