Nice neighbourhoods

Hello.

I´m looking at hotels and b&bs.

What do you think of this area? 1057 Steiner St between Golden Gate Avenue and McAllister Street.

What would be a nice and safe area to look for hotels or b&bs?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Regards

Andrea

WE really don't have many B&B's in SF. If this is your 1st time here I'd avoid this location, as its near marginal areas. Look at the top questions on hotels up on the right.

Are you talking about the Chateau Tivoli? It has many reviews here:

Yes there are B&Bs like this one in SF and you can find others if you click on the SF hotels link and then the tab for B&Bs. That immediate area is ok. There are parts near Alamo square that are not fun to walk around at night and there are project close by as well.

Have you looked at the Top Questions the ones which say Hotels Union Square or FW or Embarcadero or Union Square. We have updated and added many such questions for visitors like you. Do have a look. You can find plenty of nicer hotels that may have breakfast included.

The Chateau Tivoli looks exquisite from the outside. However, it's not in any kind of happening neighborhood. And there are fringey so-so stuff not far away. It's not far from Hayes Valley but not close enough to recommend it.

If you want a B&B atmosphere check the Hotel Boheme in North Beach. Or the Washington Square Inn if your budget can manage.

Let us know what your budget is and we can made additional recommendations.

Oh, a couple right in Hayes Valley are the Hayes Valley Inn or Sleep Over Sauce (it's above Sauce restaurant).

OK, I´ll take a look.

Last year we stayed at a wonderful B&B in New York. We had a lovely studio and paid $190 a day. I think that could be our budget for SF. Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!!

Hello!

I´ve just looked at an studio on Sacramento St and Weavenworth St, at Nob Hill as suggested on this forum. It´s through VRBO Rentals.

It´s 1200 a week. It looks nice.

What do you think?

Regards,

Andrea
