“ San Francisco to LA in October ”

We're from London and taking the kids (13 and 6) to San Francisco then flying out of LA in the last two weeks of October.

We'd like to make our way down by driving and have a combination of city, nature/forest, beach and theme park (not Disney but Knott's Berry Farm and Magic Mountain).

Please could anyone suggest a good itinerary? Don't want too long in LA itself - I visited years back and don't think the children would be too keen.

There you will find a page of our DON'T-MISS SIGHTS as well as DRIVING DIRECTIONS to the Southland that's augmented by reports linked to the site at entitled "A Trip to Las Vegas…" and "A Trip to Anaheim…"

This roller-coaster freak also prefers Knott's and Magic Mountain to Disney.

Thank you very much. Greatly appreciated.

From time to time, the site is tweaked to be better, a couple of important, but hardly noticeable, changes have been made in the past week.
