Cat ferry to Yarmouth

I would like to take the ferry from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth, NS. Has anyone had experience with the high-speed Cat? Is it worth all of the extra money in the time saved, or should I simply plan on spending the extra hours at sea on the regular ferry? Any advice would be most helpful!

I didn't think a regular ferry was still available from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth. (Or perhaps you were travelling from somewhere else?) Yes, the Cat is fast, but has none of the charm of the old Bluenose. The Cat leaves you choked w/ diesal fuel if you venture outside for a view & your options are limited to just back of boat. (Bluenose was like a real boat w/ decks, places to sun/lounge, casino, bar, movie screening etc. Nothing hurried.)

I live in BH and the Cat is the only ferry to Yarmouth. Yes, it is worth the time and I find the Cat to be very enjoyable. It has a nice dining room, lounge, casino, shops etc.
