 Which id better

Hey yall, was wondering which would be better for the perfect honeymoon, either Hawaii or Tulum, Mexico?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hawai`i. No swine flu here. You can drink the water. You can safely leave your resort. We speak English. American money works. No passport needed.

Hmmm. Third world or tropical world? Choices, choices.

I am not sure about Tulum now, was there in the late 80's. But we were always harassed by street vendors(timeshare, trinkets) and also beach vendors in Cancun and Playa del Carmen (5 years ago). They kept harassing and tugging me even after I said no.

Hoxie, if you are truely deployed with the US armed services, Hawaii would be great for you. Lots and lots of discounts to those who have served our country. You can even drink the water here!! Honeymooning in Hawaii is a wonderful experience. Magical I should say and you will be contributing to the US economy.

Having been to both, I would agree that Hawaii would be a better honeymoon destination. Not to knock Tulum or the Riveria Maya (which are awesome), but I find that it is easier to travel within the US than to go outside. Less to worry about, I guess. If you go to Oahu, check out Romy's shrimp shack on the north shore. Unbelieveably delicious!

I have been to Tulum and loved it, but it gets oppressively HOT in Summer. When is your trip?

If I had a choice I would pick Hawaii ... its pariadise! Then again you are asking this question on the Oahu Hawaii forum so we may just be a little prejudiced.

As for the Swine Flu. There are currently 115 confirmed cases of H1N1 on Oahu.

I would not consider this in your plans either way. Unless your trip is after the Summer then I would probably stay away from Mexico until we see how the Virus bounces back after the weather cools down.

Hi Hoxie

I haven't been to Tulum so I can't comment on that, but we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and subsequently for our 5th anniversary because it is simply beautiful!!! Our honeymoon was magical from start to finish, there are so many romantic things (if thats your thing) to do, like sunrise/sunset/moonlit walks along Waikiki and the people are simply wonderful!!

I would definately definately definately recommend Hawaiii, you can't go wrong!

Hi Hoxi, I agree with Sweetsugar 1621. I haven't been to Tulum either, but I had my honeymoon in Hawaii, and am making my tenth visit to Oahu in September.

I wish you all the best for your wedding and honeymoon.

Regards

John.
