Feast of Lele - getting there

We will be on the Pride of America Cruise ship in Kahului, what is the best way to get to Lahaina for Feast of Lele? We will be there in June

A rental car will be your least expensive option, but if you're not renting one, then a taxi or limousine, but it's almost an hour drive so, it will be a costly trip.

Or, maybe ask on the roll call for your cruise if anyone else is going by rental car and see if they're willing to give you a ride: boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php…

Somewhat surprising the cruise line doesn't include the Feast among their Maui destinations.

Anyway, whatever the means of getting there, the reward will be well-worth the effort. Here is a video we rely on to preview friends of what to expect:

mauionline.com/content/… (We'll be there again in 2 weeks...sure hope the blasting winds will have diminished!)

If at all possible, include cruising Lahaina either before, or after (or both!). A tourist trap, without debate, but our absolute favorite anywhere. Location of the Feast comes into view at 4:30 of this video:

For the cost of a taxi both ways I'd rent a car...I think POA arrives early in the morning and doesn't leave until evening of the following day (please correct me if I'm wrong) arrange for a rental car for your time there and explore what Maui has to offer....you don't want to just limit yourself to Kahului
