Marriott Maui Ocean Club

Would the Napoli Tower (7th floor) or the Lahaina Tower (6th floor) be the best choice at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club? We will be renting a 3 BR Villa.

They are the newest towers. The Lahaina tower has the convenience of the parking garage right next to it..

They each have their own smaller pools too.

Which tower of the two has the better ocean front view along with a pool view?

I hear the Hyatt next door is under construction. Anyone know how that will affect rooms and views at the Marriott in the Lahaina tower?

We had a pool view from the Lahaina tower a few years ago and you could see the ocean in the distance. We do prefer the pool at the Lahaina tower. The pool in front of the Napili tower is very small.

I understand they are building timeshares at the Hyatt, which is next door to the Lahaina tower. We have not been there yet this year; going in November. I would also like to hear from people about the noise from the construction. How bad is it?

We had an ocean front villa in the Lahaina tower 2 years ago on I believe the fifth floor and it was truly spectacular. Both the villa and the view.

We just stayed 4 days in the Napili Tower ocean front studio room. It was a beautiful view. We actually preferred the pool there, because it was never crowded! There was rarely more than a couple of people in it. The chairs were always taken, but the pool and hot hot tub was empty. We would walk over to the other pool and it would be packed with kids. The parking garage was conveniently next to the tower.

If you haven't rented yet, check out Redweek.com for great weekly rates -- primarily rented by owners. You can't go wrong with either location. Both are spectacular. The 3 BR in the Lahaina Tower wraps at the front corner above the pool area. The Napili 3 BR wraps with part of the villa angled toward the original Molokai tower, with a pool below. 6 or 7 floor villas should have unobstructed views -- above the trees. The main parking structure is behind the Lahaina Tower; very convenient. The Napili has a smaller parking lot behind it. Both villas have full kitchens with stainless appliances, granite counter tops, washer & dryer, separate jacuzzi tub room, awesome full-wall ocean front living/dining room picture windows. Lahaina Tower has a lobby area; Napili does not (a greeter sits at an open-air desk near the entrance door). Both have pools that are more private, compared to the huge, popular 3.5 acre super pool. Both have lush green lawns dotted with hammocks strung between palm trees. Good luck making your selection. You will love it.

The older towers are the towers that are the 1 bedrooms, I have been told. These seem to be the Timeshare units that trade thru Interval. We have stayed in them, each time we have traded. Just were there in July. Did rent some extra days and were in Molokai Toweri. had a beautiful ocean view. Awesome. Then moved to Lani Tower, partial ocean view and view of Hyatt building. If I was in the unit in morning, I did hear trucks beep beep. saw lots of construction equipment.

Looks like this construction will be ongoing.

Don't think we will ever be able to trade into the new towers.

Enjoy. We like the Marriott, great location

We stayed in the Lahaina tower for a few weeks late July/early August. Because we stayed longer than our time share week, we stayed in three different rooms. Our 2 bedroom ocean view on the 5th floor overlooked the construction site. It was noisy and they start early in the morning and work on Saturday. It was disappointing not to be able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view without seeing the gaping hole that will one day be a 10 (not sure about that number) floor building. And being woken up by the beep beep beep of machinery wasn't exactly relaxing. We could watch the Hyatt's luau from our balcony though-That was fun...for one night. Fortunately, the rest of the trip was spent in ocean view rooms on the 4th & 5th floor overlooking the pool and you didn't hear any noise at all. It's still Maui after all, so the construction didn't ruin the experience, but life was definitely better pool side!
