Happy Hours, Entertainment and Festivals

Aloha!

We will be in Lihue (Marriott and Pali Kai cottage) from 5/18 - 6/1, will have a rental car and we are willing to drive anywhere on the island. I'd appreciate any advice on best happy hours, "free" Hawaiian or hula shows, and any festivals or local activities that might be occurring while we are there. I am aware of the farmers' markets and will definitely be checking out a couple of them.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

The Time section of the Garden Island newspaper will have a large section on happy hours, and entertainment. SUNDAY EDITION

And, a while back, I believe we posted the current scoops on what was happening. Things change.

Couple of places up in Kapa'a area:

Trees in the back of the Coconut Market Place ( Entertainment every night )

Sometimes Trade Winds for music....Coconut Market Place

Local happy hours in Lihue:

Market Street Diner

Kalapaki Joes

Ritchies

Robs Good time grille

Nawiliwili Tavern

Poipu:

Pizettas

Tom Kats

Hanalei Town:

Tahiit Nui

Hanalei Gormet

Not resorts, and we do not care, as we have had a great time, at most of the above over 16 years.

Do check out the GIN, on sundays. Great scoops

The Garden Island News Kauai Times section is online and around page 8 or so you will find the Happy Hour listing. When the pages display, click on them to enlarge.

Just a friendly reminder, do not drink and drive and go hands free for your cell phones!

Thanks so much for the link to the Garden Island Times - that has exactly what I was hoping for. I will be sure to check it once we arrive.
