Spring Break

How are the Wisconsin Dells during Spring Break, which is the first week in April for Minneapolis Public Schools? How are the crowds? Are there any attractions open? Is it too cold to do the outside attractions like the Deer Park, Tommy Bartlet show, not sure what else is there. We have never been there. Thanks! K.

More is open in the summer of course so that's a good time to go. Otherwise look to places like HH Bennett Studio:

The deer park is open check their hours here:

Public schools vary in their spring breaks. I would think though a lot are focused around the Easter holiday which is the end or March so maybe end of March/early April the first week I would guess. Yes Spring Break is busy in the Dells. The Visitor's Bureau can help you with what's typical I would think so contact them via online/phone. Our school district is off the Thurs. before Good Friday, Good Friday and that first Monday in April.

To answer specifically, I assume you are referring to the Tommy Bartlett Water Ski show, which runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. That would not be open. The first week of April is probably too early for all the boat attractions and mini golf/go cart offerings - they will probably start up end of April first part of May weather permitting. The Deer Park should be open. Try www.dells.com and you should get lots of info. The indoor waterparks are all open along with the indoor theme park at Kalahari and Knuckleheads near Great Wolf. Wilderness also has indoor activity areas.

Outdoor activities like the Ducks, Boat tours, Mini Golf, Deer Park etc may be open limited hours if the weather is good. That does not mean the Ducks or Boats are pleasant over that cooooold water.

Keep in mind that the Dells waterpark resorts are also now destinations for college spring breakers, so it can be a little wild.
