Expanded Mount Olympus / Mykonos Village - Be Aware!

Mount Olympus now owns all the property on the west side of the strip from the former Raintree (not Pizza Pub or Ginza of Tokyo) up to Top Secret, and also the former American World RV area.

Depending on which building you stay in, that's a long stretch to get to the waterpark / go-karts etc. You'll want to consider that when you book a room.

I'm not sure if they'll run shuttles or have some other plan for the summer. They have been charging for parking in the waterpark lot.

Hotel Rome is the hotel that's right on the site.

Also beware! the old rain tree resort is the Mykonos Village and we visited there a few weeks ago because we got a suite for 69.00 a night! well the old indoor waterpark there was closed ( they did not tell me this when booking, I did ask if it was open) and the hotel, carpeting and staff are gross!!! stay away! I did complain to Mt olympus and they did offer me 2 nights at the actual hotel Rome and we will use them soon, but the surrounding hotel they offer for Mt Olympus are older and more run down.

We also stayed at the old Raintree resort this past march & the same thing happened to up. They never told me that the indoor pool was shut down & when I complained they gave me a whole $20 off of our room cost. I even talked with the manager & he wouldn't do anything for me. Basically he told me I should have been told the pool wasn't open & when I told him I wasn't he pretty much accused me of lieing. I doubt I will ever stay at any Mt. Olympus resort again.

After booking a 3 queen and bunk for July 27th I started reading these reviews that made me very nerveous. I considered cancelling our reservation and going somewhere else. I called Mt. Olympus and was told that I was scheduled for building 10 and not the white and blue building. I was still very concerned so I personally viewed building 10 on Sunday, July 22nd around 1:00 pm.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the rooms and the helpfulness of the cleaning staff. I was even more impressed with the smell of bleach coming from the rooms the staff were cleaning. One of the staff cleaning showed me a room with 3 queens and a bunk, it was beautiful, clean and I love that there is no carpeting. The lobby is very nice with a lounge area that includes a pool table and fireplace. The arcade was nice, clean and I noticed it was staffed with an employee overseeing the arcade. This looks like a good spot to go to once the waterpark is closed. The staff did explain that the property was purchased recently, and major changes had been made in the last few months. They also indicated new upgraded mattresses had been order and within the next few months, they would all be switched out. They also explained how to find your room in the 4 floor building. I was very relieved and very greatful for the kindness I found when arriving unannounced.

I am traveling with 5 grandchildren and was very concerned about rooms due to allergies and asthma. I will post another review once we have experienced the waterpark and hotel.

I understand concerns as the other hotels I viewed in the blue and white building did look a little tacky, but they were clean. Right now I am of the option that you get what you pay for, but I will see if that still holds after the weekend.

As a side note, looking for a restaurant that doesn't have MSG or sodium nitrate was a little frustrating. I checked with Pizza Pub, and they were not cooperative at all. The manager was not willing to check any ingredients if we were not dining. Pizza Pub only has a buffet for lunch, for supper you must order off menu. They had no idea if MSG was in there pizza sauce or pasta sauce. I also checked the Pancake restaurant, and they had no clue what I was talking about. I than went to Pizza Ranch, and was delighted when the manager understood my concerns, offered to wash the lettuce if necessary, brought out the jugs of dressing to check ingredients, and willing to make special pizza with no sausage, and no MSG in pizza sauce. So looks like we will be eating at Pizza Ranch!!!!!!! Home made mashed potatoes and lots of fresh fruit and veggies on the buffet.

Very Fussy Grandma!

We just got back from 2 nites here.I requested the old copa cabana building because they just bought it this year.rooms were nice.at 122.00 a nite. The reason there are no pools at any of there off site hotels is due to liability.Thats what the worker told me when i asked. But if you want to swim you can use the pool at there campsite.

A little off topic, but my family went to Pizza Pub last year for lunch and ordered a pizza for ourselves. Most others were having the buffet, but you do have a choice. Thought it was great, and might go back this year to try the buffet.
