Tavern 1785 or Food and Friends?

We are headed to the Greenbrier, but will be in Lewisburg for one night. Which of the two restaurants should we eat at?

If Tavern 1785 is very formal, then we will probably opt for Food and Friends. Can one wear jeans/nice shorts to Tavern 1785?

Overall, which restaurant is better? We can't choose!

Thanks much!

I know this is not one of your two picks, but the General Lewis Inn has very good food and you do not have to stay there to eat there. You can be informal, jeans.....

How fancy do you want?

Can one wear jeans/nice shorts to Tavern 1785? - No, it's pretty formal.

I prefer the food at Food & Friends.

Tavern 1785 is pretty formal, and the ambience is lovely. I've eaten there are few times. The main entrees are good, but I've been disappointed by the desserts. . . not their strong point. I don't think they have a dress code, but you would be underdressed if you had on jeans/shorts. I actually prefer the food at Food and Friends.
