I so nor know about places to stay since we lived there, but for food try Birchfield Manor and Gasperetti's for nice meals. A great hamburger place, that looks sort of like a dive, but has been around for ages and is very good is Miner's, which is down toward Union Gap almost.

In our local phone book is a map of the wineries. There are always lots of interesting things going on at the wineries, even midweek. Just pick the ones closest to where you are going to be and visit 3 or 4 in a day. Travel down lateral A from and Union Gap and visit the fruitstands which have tons of fresh produce at good prices. Toppenish, the city of murals is absolutley awesome, and if you are in the area you can head out to Fort Simcoe State Park to go through the 1860s Fort with original buildings and period furnishings. Late summer and early fall are beautiful in our Yakima Valley. Enjoy!

Since you come from Seattle which is big city, I would recommend Orchard Inn B&B or Birchfield Manor. It's like getaway places. Orchard Inn is so nice with lots of fruit trees around. There is a new shop next to the Inn selling Yakima valley fruit produce and local gifts. It's like being in the country, yet it is right in town! Birchfield Manor is about five mins off highway. We've never stayed there but have dinners many times. It's local favorite for special dinner occasions. great wine list!! If you prefer hotel, Yakima hilton garden is brand new, right in town. Hope it helps.

you can get a Yakima Valley Wine map at many brochure racks. I did a tour over there and found 8 wineries within a 8 mile route, but there are literally so many to choose from.

If you are really into wine and don't mind driving, then I would suggest you put together your own tour. Most of the wineries have websites you can visit to help you narrow down your choices. You can certainly book a guided tour, but it's really nice to be able to spend as much or as little time as you want at wineries/lunch/looking at scenery. Also, make sure that the wineries you're looking at are actually open on the weekdays you are going to be in town. A lot of tasting rooms are closed early-mid week so your choices might be limited. If you are looking to go tasting both days and don't mind some extra driving (about two hours each way) then I would also suggest heading to Walla Walla for one of those days. Walla Walla has a ton of great wineries that are all relatively close and many more dining choices. If you are really interested in a guided tour, you can find one at winesnw.com/yaktour.html (for Yakima - other areas are linked on that page if you are interested).
