Dog Friendly Restaurants/Bars |
|
I'll be making my first daytrip from Seattle to Whidbey Island this weekend. Ideally, my dog Hops will be along for the trip. I've scouted the off-leash dog areas on Whidbey, and now I'm looking for recommendations where I can get a bite to eat or a beer to drink with my dog by my side. Can anyone recommend som dog-friendly dining/drinking establishments that allow dogs on the patio? Thanks! |

Nothing comes to mind on the southend that really incorporates the kicking back with a beer part of your quest, but there are some nice places to hang out on a patio with Hops and people/pooch watch. Useless Bay Coffee Company - great gourmet panini sandwiches and coffee. Beautiful patio and gardens. Quite a popular gathering place. Island Coffee House - Across the street from UBCC and operated by the youth of the community as a service project. Nice place to sit out front, often with musicians jamming. At Ken's Korner: (Corner of Hwy 525 and Langley Rd.) Pickle's Deli - Located in the strip mall by the Red Apple grocery. Great food and they do have bottled beer for sale. The outside patio is located in the parking lot so the ambience may not be exactly what you are looking for, but the sandwiches are great! At Bayview Corner Cash Store: (Right on Bayview Rd. going north on Hwy 525) Open Door Coffee + Art - Some seating outside around the grounds and a great gallery showing many local artists.
Basil Cafe - Vietnamese food. Outdoor patio seating, not sure if they ever got their liquor license. There might county health restrictions on pets on their patio, but there are tables scattered about outside the premises to sit and eat. Bayview also has a great farmers market on Sat. 11-2 Beach Cabin (across the street from Payless grocery) - Great food, the area outside to sit and eat is next to the main road with lots of traffic. Good option for take out and the food is quite good. The Double Bluff off-leash beach is between Bayview and Freeland. Parking may be scare on this busy weekend, but worth the effort The other off-leash park close by south on Bayview Rd. from Hwy 525 about a mile. Should be a busy and fun weekend with the nice weather -- Enjoy! | ||||||
