shopping outlets

We will be crossing the border into Bellingham for one day in July. I heard there are great factory outlets. Where would we find them and are they open on Sundays? Is there a hotel close by the shopping area?

There is a small outlet center south of Blaine, but it has struggled over the years. The last time I was there it wasn't much at all and there was talk of converting it to a regular shopping center.

What you may have heard about the main outlet center, Seattle Premium Outlets 10600 Quil Ceda Blvd. Tulalip, WA 98271 (360) 654- 3000, which is further south. It is near the Tulalip Hotel and Casino. Website is: www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp… They would be about an hour to hour and a half south of the border.

There is another outlet center a bit closer in Burlington, about 20 minutes south of Bellingham. You can see there info here: horizongroup.com/Post/…burlington.pdf.

Many Canadians just come to Bellingham and shop the regular big box stores and the mall along Meridian just north of I-5.

Virtually all stores in WA are open on Sundays, although many do not open until noon on that day.

Don't waste your time at the Blaine outlet.

It's worth the stop at the Burlington Outlets, called the Outlet Shoppes at Burlington, they have a couple unique stores that are not at other outlet malls; i.e.; lulumon, Pendleton, and a Filson Outlet is opening soon.

Otherwise head to the Seattle Premium Outlets in Marysville. For both outlet centers make sure you sign up for the VIP club and download coupons and special promotions before you go for additional discounts.
