We will be coming from Tennessee and would like a nice stopover on the way home. Last year we stayed in Martinsburg, W. Virginia and were happy with the accommodations but may want to try a new town this year. Can anyone recommend any towns past Winchester as we will be going on I-81 and then running into I-78 to go back to New Jersey. We wont be doing much but would like a town with some stores & restaurants.

I suggest looking in to staying in Hagerstown, Maryland. It is a decent size town and is near the crossroads of I-81 and I-70. It does have some outlet malls if you are in to that.
