Retired, heading to Williamsburg for 1st time, 7 day trip, should we buy the annual pass, for 61 dollars each. Is this the best deal.

Consider the Historic Triangle Pass, which includes 7 days of unlimited admssion to Colonial Williamsburg, Historic Jamestowne and Jamestown Settlement, Yorktown Battlefield and the Yorktown Victory Center. And, if you're into rollercoasters and theme parks, consider the Bounce Pass, which includes all mentioned above as well as Busch Gardens and Water Country (in season).
The Bounce Pass includes Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water Country USA (in season), but you would want to add the 4-site tickets that includes both Jamestown sites and both Yorktown sites if you want to visit them and don't already have a National Parks pass.
I purchased a Senior Pass for The National Parks and Federal Recreaional Lands Pass, at Yosemite , It is a lifetime pass, Is this good for some of these places.
Yes, it is good at Historic Jamestowne and at Yorktown Battlefield. They are both a part of the National Colonial Historical Park, and are connected by the Colonial Parkway. The Parkway is a nice drive; you can go on it from Williamsburg to Historic Jamestowne on one end, and Yorktown Battlefield on the other. http://www.nps.gov/colo/index.htm
It depends on when you will be here and what you want to do while in the area. The Annual Pass is the best bet if you are only visiting CW or plan to return within the year. There are discounts for teachers, seniors, travel agents, CW hotel guests or the handicapped. Should you want to partake in all the area has to offer; the Bounce pass (CW and Busch Gardens, Water Country in season) coupled with the Four Site admission pass to both parks at Jamestown and both sites at Yorktown would be best. Should you already have a Nat'l Parks pass or purchase one here ($10 for seniors, best deal ever) you can then pay the other fees separately.
CW has several promotions planned througout the year that could affect your admission decisions, so check the website www.history.org before your arrival. For example, first responders (police, firemen, EMTs, active duty military) and their immediate families can purchase a single day pass ($39.95 per adult, 20.95 children 6-12) and receive a pass good through Dec 31, 2012, now through June 10. Starting April1, Annual passholders can 'Bring a Friend" for one day for $15.
COMING IN MAY, STAYING REAL CLOSE TO CENTER OF TOWN. No Water Parks or fast rides. Love old shops, and antiques. Sight seeing mostly, maybe one day to the coast. Dinner's at real nice places. Just looking for places to go, and areas to sightsee.
An annual pass will allow you to visit CW whenever you wish for the entire week. Programming varies from day to day. We often will stop by CW for a particular event before heading off to Jamestown, etc. Your National Parks pass will provide access to Historic Jamestown and Yorktown Battlefield as previously stated. In my opinion, an annual pas should be all you need to purchase at this time.
Is it necessary to make this decision in advance r.e. what passes to buy? Is it cheaper in advance or online? I'm travelling with family of 7 and like the flexibility of buying at the time we arrive unless we'll run into being sold out or if it would save us to buy in advance. Thanks, Big LG
lghicks, some of the offers are available only online, and some for a lower price in advance online. You just need to go to the websites and read up on them to determine the best deal for you.
