Well, let's see...you can rent a bike and ride the Boardwalk, stop in the Christmas Mouse for a souvenir ornament, fly a kite on the beach or travel inland to Mt. Trashmore and do the same on the top of the hill. There's a great Children's Play area there, too. You can visit the Virginia Aquarium and walk the marsh trail between the two buildings rather than taking your car from one to the other - be sure to see an IMAX film while you are there - it's pretty cool to have fish (seem to) nibble your nose! Go 20 minutes up the interstate into Norfolk and take a harbor tour to see the naval ships up close and personal, and while in Norfolk go aboard the USS Wisconsin for a self-guided tour - check out that anchor chain!! The Virginia Zoo is definitely worth a look-see and the Botanical Gardens near the airport should be coming into bloom if you like nature -- or you can take to the trails at Seashore State Park (excuse me, 'they' renamed it First Landing State Park). There's Jungle Golf (putt-putt type) and a small amusement park - don't know if that park will be open that early. Of course, there are shopping and movies aplenty - including the cafe-type movie where you munch lunch or dinner while you watch. You'll have a great time - we do and we live here all the time.

We go to Virginia Beach the 1st week of April every year for vacation. We have been lucky with decent weather. Low 60"s to upper 80"s just depends, with minimal rain. The evenings are cool especially near the water, but just wear a jacket. The boardwalk is fun and stores are open to wander in and out off. We truly enjoy ourselves without the crowds. The beach is ours to have and yes, our children have gone swimming in the ocean in April, yes its cold, but there kids they don't care. We live in a cold weather state so they put there swimsuits on every morning and make the best of it!
