Any suggestions on the best hotels? Will have about 50 girls and parents. Looking at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood? Would love to have a suite or even better some cabins???

Also anyone know of any campgrounds in the area?

A week in a hotel is a long time - but a pool is a must.

Claytor Lake State Park is not terribly far (nice cabins), but I would think the drive might get old after a couple days. I've done my share of traveling with softball teams, so I would be inclined to go for the convenience of a nearby hotel. Where are the fields? Closer to Salem or to Roanoke? There are many good hotels right around the airport and shopping centers along I-81. Closer to Salem is the Baymont Inn & Suites. Both areas have the typical chains: Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn/Express, Comfort Inn & Suites, etc.

Holiday Inn Roanoke is one of few in Roanoke to have an indoor and outdoor pool. Also has a hot tub inside.
