Weather mid Dec.-early January

I've seen that the temps seem to average 22-45 during the above time of the year. In the Lexington area, how much snow might be on the ground, what snow would be expected? I'm thinking of doing a house/dog sit in the area, and need to get a better idea of conditions on the ground itself.

Thank you all in advance for your help.

22-45 sounds about accurate.

Really hard to project snowfall - last couple years the Winters have varied greatly from year to year. 2010 Roanoke, VA didn't receive all that much snow, the previous year (2009) several storms dropped 10+ inches.

You might have more success with this question if you post in the Lexington forums...

There's a fair amount of precipitation in winter here in Virginia, but that temperature range of 22-45 tells you that it's impossible to predict whether it will be rain or snow.

I used to live near Lexington, and some years we had several feet of snow, and others not a single flake. Most years it was somewhere in between, with snowstorms now and then but not usually snow on the ground all winter long.
