miraflores rancho club...any comments or reviews?

We placed on hold a three bedroom apartment on Miraflores Rancho Club. It's for next June, but we are planning ahead. We are concerned about the mixed comments about the resort, and also with the lack of air conditioning. We are going with two teens, it will be their first time in Costa del Sol, and for one first time in Europe. As of now we could stay one week at Miraflores Rancho Club, and another week in Villacana Resort. I believe there's plenty to do for two weeks, we are renting a car, and feedback on saving $ will be appreciated.

Never stayed at Miraflores Rancho Resort but have stayed at Villacana and can highly recommend it. Not sure if its got enough going for it for teenagers though as its quite a bit outside Estepona and a car is highly recommended. The village of Cancelada across the road from the resort is lovely and has some really nice restaurants. Although there is an amazing bar along the beach called Heaven which is a great place to spend a few hours.

Miraflores is in Calahonda and within easy reach of Fuengirola and Marbella which would probably suit teenagers better than Villacana. We are staying at MacDonalds Dona Lola resort again this year which is in Calahonda and the area has lots of bars and restaurants.

Air con is not often in timeshare apartments as its costly to run and if you are being charged for the utility costs by the resort it can add up. We've had apartments with it and only used it when we first come back at the end of the day to take the heat out of the bedroom. Most bedrooms have ceiling fans which are fine and don't use as much electricity.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for addressing my concerns, specially about the air conditioning. We stayed once at Dona Lola but it was October, and it was cool. We loved Dona Lola. I hope two weeks is good for the two teens.

Enjoy your stay, and again thanks for responding.

If you do go to Villacana there is the Selwo Safari park not far away. Its a wonderful day out for all ages and the as two oldies (only in body, not mind!) we love it t here and enjoy seeing all the animals and birds in natural surroundings.
