Travelling by bus around Quarteira and district.

Can you tell me please if it is possible to purchase bus tickets that give a reduced fare?

There are tourist passes. Unfortunately the information of the bus company website on this subject is not in English:

www.eva-bus.com/novo/passe_turistico.php

If you use www.translate.google.com you get the following English text:

I would travel all over the Algarve, know and enjoy the various locations but all options will seem too expensive?

Thinking of you, we have at your disposal a comprehensive and innovative concept in terms of mobility in the Algarve.

With only one card you can move throughout the region using the vast network of intercity transport, or EVA Transport, Fleet Blue Algarve.

The Tourist Pass is available for use for 3 or 7 days, NO LIMIT TRAVEL.

And all at a very reasonable price!

Go now to one of the ticket offices or EVA Transport Fleet Blue Algarve and get yours now!

Price:

Tourist Spend 3 days = € 28.80

Tourist Spend 7 days = € 35.90

You would have to practically live on a bus to get any value from the tourist pass.

Quarteira has only two bus routes, one goes to and from Loulè and the other is the route between Albufeira and Faro which passes through Vilamoura and Quarteira. It costs €4,05 to get to Faro or Albufeira, €3,25 to get to Loulé.

If you intend making the same journey a few times, you can buy a pre-paid pass card which reduces the fare by up to 50%. The cards cost €3 and then can be loaded with 10 or 20 tickets. But they are only valid on a point to point basis, being intended for students and other regular travellers.

These cards can be bought at the Quarteira bus station.

These tickets are not valid on the minibus route around Quarteira and Vilamoura, which has a separate fare system.
