We recently spent a few days in Greve and took the bus to Florence. Very easy to use. They leave Greve very often. Just buy your tickets before in the kiosk and stamp them once you enter the bus. It takes about an hour and you will be dropped off at the bus/trainstation from where you can walk to the Duomo in 5 minutes.

The only downside is you can't have dinner in Florence since the last bus back leaves Florence at about 8 at night. But we had a very nice lunch instead.

Do not even *think* of trying to drive into Florence. This forum is littered with reports from people who have accidentally driven into a restricted area, or in a bus lane, and have been hit with multiple €100 fines months later.

Take a bus or train to visit Florence.

Drive the road from Greve to Figline Valdarno and take one of the many trains into Florence. There is a large free parking lot next to the school across the tracks form the railroad station. A lot of the locals do the same thing.
