18 days on Koh Chang - Too long?

We are going to Koh Chang in Feb 2014 - 4 adults, 2 kids and one baby (11 months at the time), but have only been to Phuket previously and Im wondering if 18 days is too long?

What sightseeing/activities is there on Koh Chang?

From what i gather snorkeling, diving and fishing is the main activities which is a bit hard with a baby.

If 18 days is too long, does anyone have any recommendations of where we can go as well that isnt to hard to travel to from Koh Chang?

Hi

There are others islands that you can split your stay the like of koh Mak and koh kood( kut). But 18 days ( for me ) I think is a tad long.

Perhaps spend 3-4 days in Bangkok for sight seeing. There so much to see and do in Bangkok. Then head to kanchanaburi for 2-3 nights. Or head to Chiangmai for 5-6 nights.

Cheers.

I would agree with Sweetpea unless you are very happy to just chill out a lot for most of your holiday 18 days on Koh Chang might be a bit long, You mention that you have only been to Phuket previously and if you did not on that occasion spend time in Bangkok I would definately reccomend that for a few days with possibly also an overnight or 2 trip to Ayutthaya.

Many islands on some great boat trips to explore, snorkelling, fishing trips, kayaking, many spectacular waterfalls, cheap moped hire, fish farms, jungle trekking, elephant farms and trekking, or just lazing on some great beaches.

Think I could handle 18 days of this paradise!!
