Mount Vernon In The Rain?

Our family is planning a trip to D.C. this weekend.

We want to see Mount Vernon, George Washington's

home, on Sunday. Unfortunately, the forecast for

that day looks like rain. Has anyone been there in

the rain? We appreciate any feedback or ideas.

When you see rain in the forecast around here in the summer, that means thunderstorm, not all-day rain.

Most likely you will be fine until 3 or 4 ish (often even later) and then pop-up storms develop. They move fast, often don't cover the entire area, and last 10 minutes or so.

Bring an umbrella, and just find something indoors for the time period that it rains.

Thank you so much for your reply. It really helps

a lot. We are so excited to visit D.C. and the

surrounding areas. Again, we really appreciate your

response.
