Help, all you Leesburg -ers! :)

I am moving to Leesburg in about a week for my job. I am looking for fun and historical things to do and see on my time off (weekends, holidays, etc.) I know that Leesburg itself is quite historical but I was wondering what are some other fun things to do and see near Leesburg. I won't have a car and really want to commute by metro or train, NOT bus!! How far away are these modes of transportation? If I have to take a bus somewhere, I will but I prefer not to! So, with that being said, list the adventures!!!! Thank you all so very much!

Oh PS:

I am single and in my mid 20's so no need to worry about family or kids traveling with me!

THANKS!!! :)

There is no Metro train or commuter train in Leesburg. I don't know about a public bus system that serves just Leesburg-there may be one, but if you want to go on adventures and see things, in most scenarios, you are going to need a car.

Here are two websites with bus transit information for Leesburg and Loudoun County:

Seriously though, I think you will find that having a car will become important. I won't say necessary, because you CAN get around without one, if yo truly wish too. That being said howwever, the area is not really set up for life without a car.

Loudoun county is a great place to live, and Leesburg is a great town. Welcome!
