Sheraton Area Manta Night Dive/Snorkel- Off Rocks

Aloha! Okay, before anyone freaks out, we did this last X-mas going out w/Fair Winds. Was amazing!$! We had checked out the area/grounds prior to our trip. We saw a couple of tours out there one night, Fair Winds, (snorkel tour) & a dive group & we could actually see the manta's swimming around. Then we noticed a group of 4 off to the side, closer to the hotel's viewing platform. They had lights & were attracting a few manta's. We watched & waited to see where they were going to exit. It was near that house, just east of the hotel, on the shore. So during the next day, now daylight, we looked for the spot they entered/exited the bay. Didn't see anything that looked easy/safe. Does anyone know if 'normal' people do this or were these guys dare-devils? Or just crazy? Is there a spot there that's commonly used to do this? Mahalo!

Well, I'm pretty sure no one has done it in Big Island, Virginia, where you posted your query. Try one of the Hawaii forums: tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g29217-i268-Island…

This is more a 'Hey, Ya'll' place than an 'Aloha' place. You got the right side of the country. Move left a some and then skip over the water a while.
