If you stay in the mountain cabins you will get far better views (depending on which one) and feel more like you are staying in your own place. However, although they are "ski out" they are not "ski in" meaning, you will need to take the lift back up to get to it. No big deal though.
If you are planning on spending time apres ski, off the mountain, I'd stay in the cabins. But if you want to spend your entire time on the mountain, then the lodge is a better choice, as you will not need to get into your car.
Depending on how long you are staying, you will want to venture into town anyway. Up on the mountain there is very limited choices for dinner, etc... If you stay in a cabin, you will not have to deal with valet and just in general have more freedom. If you plan on using the spa and pool. the lodge will be a more convenient choice.
