Memorial Day Weekend 2014

We will be going to the Marriott MountainSide on Friday, the 23rd. We are very excited and feel very lucky for PCMR's summer activities opening on the day we get there. First Question, other than PCMR's activities, what can we do in the Park City area? And, will the weather cooperate? As being from Michigan, it will be tough to be worse than MI, and 60's and above are great, even for pools. Second, sadly, it appears some very good restaurants will not be open due to how early in the season it is. What are some great (open) restaurants? And last, is there any festivities for Memorial Day? Thank you very much!

Do keep in mind that Memorial Day is still pretty early in the mountains. That being said, snowmelt is coming right along. Did have snow last weekend but temps now have been in 60-70s. It would be unusual to have nice poolside temps on Memorial Day. If it's in the 70s, that would be about as high as you could expect.

Honestly, there's no shortage of restaurants open. Might be a few closed but very minimal. No special activities planned - definitely pretty early. I'm not sure on opening schedule but see what's open at the Utah Olympic Park. For sure, the Olympic museum is open (free). Zip lines there are fun if they're open yet.

Dozens and dozens of restaurants, but give a try to either Sammy's Bistro or Silver Star Cafe - both of which were featured this week on Diner's, Driveins, and Dives. Both are extraordinary and fun.

You'll find some hiking but look for the more exposed trails where snow has melted and ground has dried. A good resource is www.mountaintrails.org.

Have fun.

Thank you very much! We would be super excited with 70's, because Michigan has been about 10 degrees the whole winter and 40 the whole Spring. My sister loves to hike so that will be fun. I'm glad most restaurants are open! I've checked out Silver Star Cafe and it looks great! Thank you very much!

Here is an events calendar for Park City. Also keep in mind that there is a great trail system for biking around PC. Much of it is paved. There are bike rental shops you could get the lowdown on the area. White Pine is right off the Rail Trail. You may wish to call an excursion company like All Seasons and see what they have going at this time of year too.
