Park city accomodation

We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children 12, 10 and 8) visiting Park City Jan 2014. Our plan is to ski every day so we want to be somewhere ski-in ski-out, but also want to be somehwere that is close to Main St. Are there properties that satisfy both these requirements? If so any suggestions? If not, how difficult is it to get from ski-in ski-out properties to Main St?

Many thanks.

Ski in/out is a waste of money in park city. The free bus will drop you right at the resorts. It does not get any easier. If you want to be close to Main Street try marriott summit watch. You can walk to town lift. Otherwise, I would look for someplace close to a bus stop.

There are not a lot of ski in out properties in PC.

Good advice - Marriott Summit Watch is a very good choice. It's a modified version of ski in/out with access to the Town Lift that will transit you to the resort itself. You can ski down and walk a block to the hotel. Marriott Mountainside would give you actual ski in/out, but you would have to shuttle to Main Street.

Have fun.

Welcome to the Wasatch. There are three ski resorts within seven miles of each other. Park City Mountain Resort is closest to Main Street, about one mile away, with ski access from the Town Lift. Deer Valley is a couple of miles East and The Canyons is about 4 miles West. All can be accessed by the free town shuttle. Besides the options mentioned, others within a one minute car drive or five minute walk to PCMR are the Silver King, Snowcrest Condos, Lodge at Mountain Village, etc.

I would argue that Park City has lots of ski in/ski out properties, it just depends on which ski resort you want to be at. If ski in/ski out is your number 1 priority, there are numerous properties at Deer Valley that meet this requirement. Most of them offer a free shuttle to downtown Park City too. Black Diamond Lodge, Trail's End, Flagstaff, the Montage, Arrowleaf just to name a few. There are lots of private homes and condos available too. PCMR boasts the Marriott, Silver Star and the Lowell. The Canyons has several properties that are ski in/ski out (Grand Summit, Waldorf, Vintage on the Strand) and several properties that are 2-3 minute walk from the base of the mountain (Sundial, Miners Club, Sunrise Hilton)... and keep in mind these properties all will have a shuttle system to take you to main street or you can hop on the free bus system too.

Happy planning- lots to choose from!
