Marriot Mountainside resort in March...couple ?s

We are coming to Park City for the first time....I have skiied all over Colorado and heard great things about Park City. We are staying at a 2 br unit at the Marriot. Just curious about a couple of things.

1. Is there a need for a car or better to take a shuttle from SLC. If better for shuttle, is it easy to get around in Park City from the Marriot....Our unit has a kitchen so we will likely want convenience of shopping for food, etc....We stayed in Breckenridge last February and never drove our car because of convenience of shuttles to town....I'm hoping PC is the same.

2. How is the town of Park City? My wife is not a big skier and will likely want to hit the town to shop and we will want to eat at nice restaurants....would appreciate any recommendations.

3. How about other tips for activities other than skiing?

4. Any other thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

1. Car not needed, not only is there a great transportation system throughout the park city area -- but such is free.

2. Town has tons of shops and great restaurants -- choices with excellent food, although not the cheapest places in town include Talisker on Main, 350 Main, Chimanyo, Silver. Non-skiers may also want to check out some of the amazing spas in the area but the super deluxe places are found at Canyons (Waldorf) and Deer Valley (St Regis, Montage) vs. town.

3. Hot air balloning, go to Olympic Park and either check out the museum and athletes training or sign up to actually go bobsleeding or ludge, tubing, alpine coaster at PCMR, etc.

4. Even if staying by PCMR, highly recommend checking out Canyons for a day, and if you don't have snowboarders in your group and not looking for supper steep terrain Deer Valley can be fun too.

For sure you will not need a car. Far more to do here than in Breckenridge - both for skiers and non-skiers. You have two major grocery stores just a short distance away. You could actually walk there in 10 minutes and either walk back with groceries, take a bus or taxi. I think you'll find the whole user experience to be far better than what you've experience in the past, especially the 40 minute ride from airport to slopeside hotel.

Have fun.
