Romantic restaurant

We will be staying in Deer Valley in early Feb and want to hire a babysitter to watch our kids for one special evening (which we don't have too many of). Looking for a place that is romantic with plenty of ambiance and food that is worthy of us going out. Any recommendations?

At Deer Valley, look at either Goldener Hirsch or Glitretind at Stein Eriksen Lodge, both in Silver Lake Village. You can also add Mariposa as another option there. Any of them would give you intimate, romantic atmosphere and amazing food. Of the three, our personal favorite would be Goldener Hirsch.

If you want to venture down to Main Street, Talisker on Main or Silver are two recent additions that are popular.

I'll throw in one other opportunity. While it might not be an intimate, romantic setting, Deer Valley's Fireside Dining at Empire Lodge is an amazing value and a truly unique experience. It's buffet service with food served at four fireside locations. It's a real value at $58/person. You can combine it with a pre-dinner sleigh ride. If you want to go that route, make a reservation (now would be good) and ask for a nice table in the back fireplace room. They only seat a couple tables there and it's quite intimate and much better than being in the main room or upstairs (which is not a good place to be).

Have fun.

Thanks for the suggestions. Decided to go with Mariposa. Any suggestions for where to go for a night cap? Heard the St. Regis hotel is known for that.

Mariposa will be great. For a night cap, it really depends on where in DV you're staying. For example, if you're staying up in Silver Lake it would be somewhat inconvenient to drive down to St. Regis. If you're in lower DV it might make perfect sense.

Staying in Comstock Lodge so I think this sounds like a perfect plan.
