Memorial Day weekend

Decisions, decisions! We currently have 9 nights booked in Springdale beginning May 18 through Memorial Day. Zion can get pretty crowded on Memorial Day weekend so considering doing day trips to hike some non-permit areas near Kanab on Saturday/Sunday or checking out and spending our last few nights in Escalante. If you had to choose between day trips to Kanab or spending a couple of nights in Escalante which you would select? Any other ideas?

Well, I would chose the one that I hadn't done before, or would not expect to get to again.

But I don't suppose that is what you are asking. The answer is that either would be good, so flip a coin. You will enjoy either way.

Sorry, I know that is not what you are looking for.

I don't know why you wouldn't also move to stay in Kanab if you wanted to visit that area. Going through Zion and back can take up valuable time.

I'm with Kbec. Too hard to choose between Kanab and Escalante. I've been to both several times and always found plenty to do at each. Kanab has a better selection of restaurants and motels if that means anything.
