Flying into mustang island- where to stay and transportation

We plan to fly into mustang island in October for a weekend. What is the best place to stay maybe where we wouldn't need a car? Close to beach and restaurants? Thanks!

Mustang Island A/P is located at Hwy 361 & Beach Access Rd. 1-A. You can walk to your rental from the A/P if you stay on Beach Access 1-A and catch the trolley to a golf cart rental place. No need for a car and close to town and restaurants. Some condos on 1-A are the Gulfside Beach Condos (4 bedrooms), Aransas Princess (1 to 3 bedrooms), and Island Dunes (1 to 3 bedrooms). All of these are less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, We love the Gulfside Beach Condos.

Thought I would update on this. We found a hotel that is Aviation related that provides transportation. I will post a review after we stay.
