Food & Drink The Important things!

My friends and I are staying in Las Americas for a week in November we are all in our early 40's and we are looking for suggestions of decent places to eat as we are self catering and recommendations of pubs/clubs for the evenings (we are partial to the odd cocktail or two!).

I would like to do a couple of excursions any names of reasonable tour companys would be appreciated.

Cheers F

Hi

Best thing is to let us know your accommodation 1st then we can recommend some places near to where your staying.

There are loads of excursion companies in las americas.

last year we did la gomera for the day and i loved it.

Hi

Your staying right at the back of where our apts palm Beach.

here is a map which will show where your apt is.

http://www.eurosol.com/map_p2.htm

Eating out places.

there are a few nice restaurants near you, these are located at the back of the El Caribe hotel, (you can see all of this on the map)

Infront of palm Beach there is a lovely Greek Restaurant.

For an extra special night out go to Mama Rossas which is located on map 3 which is just at the side of Colon 2 apts.

Down on the beach front there are loads of cheapish eating out places.

As for bars, if you look on map 3 you will see Parque Santiago 2 apts, at the side of here is the patch and the great Shennanigans, excellent night out.

Also there are some great bars at the strip which is located again on map 3 by parque de la paz.

If you fancy going to the harbour, make your way down to the beach in front of palm beach and turn right, and walk down geranimum walk, this is lovely and will take you down to the harbour.

here is alink to the harbour

megawelle.com/Teneriffa-Webcam-Puerto-Colon.…

this is a live link so you can sit and wave to your friends at home, if you arrange a time. we do.

And this is a live link to the beach infront of palm beach, but this webcam doesnt' always work the camera is located on the playa troya hotel. You can see la gomera in the background

costa-adeje.es/cadeje/…troya_webcam.jsp

gives you a view of what the weather is like.

Enjoy your holiday, and you will find loads of bars and restaurants of your own.

Hi there F

Cant really add much more to lenny's excellent recomendations but here goes............!!

I always find Banana Garden (next door to Hesperia Troya hotel) to be an excellent restaurant, if you go late on (after 10pm) they also have a live flamenco show. They specialise in mexican food but do all sorts. They also do lovely cocktails!

Another area worth a visit is the Safari CC (type of shopping centre and bar/restaurant complex - the posher end of town so to speak!) There is a nice Italian restaurant in there called Bianco and an excellent cocktail bar -Harry's which has excellent views of the spectacular fountain show and the Pymarids Arona at the Mare Nostrum resort. If you check out Lenny's map this area is opposite the Sir Anthony hotel.

Enjoy!!

Me and my boyfriend just got back and we loved this restaurant that was next to the casino it was called deborah or something like that and it had a 3 course meal for about 7 euros and it was really nice for the price and it has cocktails and live music in there.

Hope you have a good time :)
