Hi, We'll be staying in The Kingfisher Club at Benal Beach mid June . Is there good nightlife nearby? We are in our early twenties and are students on a budget. thanks
You will be about 10 - 15 minute's walk from Bonanza Square, one of the area's popular places for eating and drinking.
Another 10 - 15 minutes walking will get you to 24 Hour Square and the Marina, so although not central, you are not far from the nightlife.
Here's a map: http://goo.gl/maps/fwvRV
You'll find plenty of good deals at the 24 hour square down the road.. it's a good walk or you can jump on the bus in the direction of Torremolinos/Malaga and get off just opposite the American Burger Hits.
Not worth getting there before midnight and most places open til 5 or 6am.
Many bars doing free shots and 2 4 1 offers, so 2 spirits and mixers usually €5 or €6 - so good deals :)
Cheapest places to drink are probably up Bonanza area - but lots of deals also on the promenade during the day - - tapas deals etc. at the Gaviotas bars. Marina is very expensive - but you can get 2 x 1 during the day just be careful where you sit - but well worth a visit.
Bonanza areas are not for young students... especially at night time (as the op is looking for nightlife) - stick to the 24 hour square or Marina (make sure they PR takes you to the bar and agrees drinks deal before you order at the Marina) as most places will offer 2 4 1 deals as mentioned before.
Sure, you'll get €1 a pint in Bonanza areas, but god knows what's in it and also you will be amongst the much older tourist :)
Hi - am returning to the Bonanza area after a long absence - having stayed down at Montemar for quite a few years - when we come to the area for holidays.
Are there any cabaret bars open - just read on one post Elefante and Bonanza closed? We normally walk through the area every visit - but never at nights = so haven't noticed these changes.
We are over 6th March - also the 17th March parade going to be happening - my hubby always says it is for his birthday.
You will find cabaret in Buzby's, although seems like it's been the same old acts for the last 9 months.... also at Picasso's - €5 door charge... Rob does a great show and his hypnotist is suppose to be great... nice cosy feel in there for sure..
Other than that there isn't much else Live Music wise... of course you have Karaoke but as far as going to see a band, tribute, singer etc... that's your lot!
oh, there is Doramar but i am not going to comment on that lol
Where is Picasso's - new one on me. I usually try to pick up Spotlight or Buzz or whatever free newspaper is on the go - but if so many places close- may not be printing due to lack of sponsorship. Is Munroe's still open - we've promised ourselves for a long time to pay a visit - but that's probably gone the way of the others.
Katy Picasso's is on lower level of Ibenza Sq, not sure about Munroe's..link below to Feb Buzz Mag..x
Marilyn Monroes is still going, lovely little chintzy place to relax and have a quiet drink out of the way - no live music though, but very friendly hosts.
If you stand with your back to Elefante then walk up the road opposite and you'll see the sign. Walk into the complex of apartments and it's underneath the block there.
