What's the easiest and safest way to walk from these destinations? Also, I'll like suggestions for eating and shopping along this route.
Thanks!

I can't address a safe walking route, but here are some dining ideas:
Here are my favorite quick places to eat:

Huge food court at Houston Center downtown:

Exit the front of the George R Brown Convention Center ("GRB") and walk northwest through the Discovery Green Park and continue on along either McKinney or Lamar 4 long blocks, and then turn right on Fannin and walk for 6 blocks. All of the streets in this general area have about the same level of safety, which is safe.
If you were to walk past Fannin one more block to Main and then turn right, you'll find a wide variety of restaurants and cafes along both sides of Main as you walk towards the Magnolia.
Hi,
Just be aware of your surroundings, and stick to well lit areas, as with any large city you walk in.
We like Three Forks in The Pavilion, which houses an adult bowling alley, and other restaurants, clubs and venues, as well:

enjoy H-town!
